The new Malachowsky Hall for Data Science & Information Technology brings together key departments from the College of Engineering and other disciplines for the purpose of AI-focused research and applications. The building includes 8 floors of slab and beam structure, with 256,000 sf of elevated structure. The UFI team utilized a combination of tables and scaffolding to form the slabs for this project. The project required close attention to detail and coordination with the design team, as much of the concrete was designed to be exposed with various architectural finishes. The building was also designed to be LEED Platinum certified by the USGBC.
