As a structural concrete builder, UFI tailors our scope to fit each client’s needs. From formwork only through complete turnkey services, we can provide full labor and materials as required, including furnishing, conveying, finishing, and curing all structural cast in place concrete – beginning from the shallow foundations through the topping out of the building.

UFI was contracted for Design Assist services on this project. We worked with the project team to revise the planned 10-12” flat slab with drop heads structure to a 5” slab with 16” beams moment frame. This system eliminated the need for shear walls and saved both concrete and reinforcing steel. The result was a significant cost savings without compromising structural integrity.

We partner with our clients to provide a full range of Pre-Construction services, from budgeting and design assist to scoping and bidding. Because the cost of the structure is such a large part of the overall project budget, we recognize the critical role we play in achieving accurate estimates and efficient building designs, and we are committed to bringing value to the team at each step of the process.
Design Assist
We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with the project team in helping to design a structure that is as efficient and cost effective as possible. When we are engaged early in the project, we can bring our full suite of innovative processes to the table to help optimize design and delivery.
Budgeting
We pride ourselves on creating the most accurate project estimates possible. We believe in a custom, hands-on approach that is grounded in decades of experience and is not overly reliant on software programs. We work with our clients from Schematic Design through Construction Documents to reduce pricing uncertainty, and then carry our budgeting commitments through the construction phase.

SCHEDULING + LOGISTICS
At UFI, we live by the mantra Early is On Time. In fact, we take our schedule commitments so seriously that we consistently deliver 95% of our projects ahead of schedule. In order to achieve these aggressive goals safely and without compromising quality, our Scheduling and Logistics process begins with an intensive Pre-construction Planning effort and continues with daily monitoring and adjustment to keep the project running smoothly.

By thinking creatively and selecting the best formwork and shoring system – or sometimes multiple systems – for the project at hand, we are able to save our clients significant time and money.

PROJECT CLOSE-OUT

Project Close-Out is an often overlooked phase of the construction process. At UFI, we share our clients’ goal of a successfully completed project, so we leave our project teams in place to ensure all remaining items are addressed. This includes the final punch list, as-built drawings, final pay applications, manuals, warranties, and other requisite close out documents. We ensure all quality control measures are addressed and the resulting structure is clean, safe, and ready for its new tenants.
