Modera Central is a 22-story apartment building located in the heart of downtown Orlando.
This building included 650,000 sf of elevated post tension slabs. UFI utilized a stick frame system to form the six-level parking garage, and then truss tables for the remaining 16 levels of apartments. In lieu of transfer beams, the engineer designed sloping columns to relocate column locations as the structure transitioned through different building uses – from retail to parking to residential. In total, there were 63 sloping columns spread across five levels. Concrete slabs were boom-pumped up to Level Seven. Starting at Level Eight, we placed all concrete by tower crane and bucket. Our typical deck pours were 12,000 sf and 275 cy. We used two tower cranes with 3 cy buckets and averaged 70 cy/hr. This structure was completed in 54 weeks.
